Definitely! Personally, I love seeing emails from products I like, particularly
- New features/benefits/products for e-commerce
- Milestones (being hunted, featured in a publication, changes in app management/new employees, stuff like that, depending on the product)
- Offering onboarding/demos (If it’s a moderately to very complex product and I am evaluating it for my business, I will usually take these offers up)
- Changes in pricing
- A gentle reminder every couple of weeks for the first 3 months to revisit the app if I’ve been inactive
Since I’m obsessed with profile (design) that’s often the first place I visit in a new app. I like seeing something along these lines.
I like this example because it feels like the product owners respect me as a user, and they don’t try to nickel and dime me on how I want to hear from them, or even if I want to have an active account (mad respect to product teams who have this)
One last note on email communication…Who, what, why and how.
Who is contacting me, what is the purpose of the communication, why should I care (benefits), and how do I take action (it’s such a pet peeve of mine when there’s no link to the app in the newsletter!)
