Service area locations - How to choose the best way to input and filter?

Hello!

I have an app there service provides can set up listings for their services. The vendor then has to go to a location specified by the customer at a set time. When setting up the listing, I want to give the vendor the option to specify the area’s to which they are willing to travel. In the service listing page, I want the customer to be able to filter out the services which don’t cover their location. I’ll be starting out in Sydney, Australia with this app. There are a number of ways to handle this geography challenge…

Postcode: its pretty specific, but a vendor could cover all of the city which would be too many postcodes to input

Base location + radius: this could not be as specific as the vendor would like, and a challenge tioimplement in bubble based off other forum posts.

Arbitrary regions: e.g inner city, western suburbs, etc… again, not very specific, especially at the fringes of the city where one region could extend too far out of the city.

Has any one else had to over come this challenge?

If so, how did you go about your decision making process?

Thanks for every one’s help!
