Social Security Number Needed for Stripe Seller?

Hi there!

I have created a marketplace app that requires a stripe seller account to be created. Currently, the sellers input their social security number, bank account number, routing number, name, and date of birth on my website and then this information automatically generates a stripe seller account for them without leaving my website.

What is the bare minimum of info I need to collect to generate this stripe seller account? It seems questionable and time consuming that I need to collect all this information, especially social security number.

In order for your sellers to get paid, Stripe will need all of this information. This is required for tax/regulation purposes.

You can however only collect enough information (I would need to double check the exact inputs), which would create the Stripe seller account. The seller would be tagged on Stripe as incomplete, and wouldn’t be able to receive any payments until all the information was uploaded.
