Can you help me understand something… why are there per field options in the privacy settings for autobinding?

Does allowing autobinding in the app make the data less secure in some way?

hey mate, I think it’s because auto-binding by-passes any workflow logic that you might otherwise use to control how, when and who can update data… but someone more experienced may be able to clarify further.

@antony Autobinding does not make app data less secure but it allows app users to modify database immediately without workflows that usually validate / evaluate data like @brett.miles said.

It’s a good question. Probably along the lines of what @brett.miles suggested, I imagine, but it is indeed odd that this, of all things, requires privacy rules to be in place.
